Meteorites from Baluchistan, Pakistan

Baluchistan is a province in southwestern Pakistan that is known for its rich mineral deposits and geological diversity. In recent years, several meteorites have been discovered in Baluchistan, providing scientists with valuable information about the early solar system and the composition of asteroids and comets.

One of the most notable meteorites discovered in Baluchistan is the Sariçiçek meteorite, which was found in 2015. This meteorite is classified as an L6 chondrite, which means it is composed mainly of silicate minerals and contains small amounts of iron-nickel metal. Scientists have used the Sariçiçek meteorite to study the age of the solar system and the formation of planets.

Another meteorite discovered in Baluchistan is the Kacarla meteorite, which was found in 2018. This meteorite is classified as an H5 chondrite, which means it is composed mainly of silicate minerals and contains small amounts of iron-nickel metal. Scientists have used the Kacarla meteorite to study the composition of asteroids and comets.
