Jadeite

Jadeite is a type of jade, and is typically distinguished by its light greenish-white color, and it also can have striations and cloud-like inclusions. It can be found in several countries around the world, though the most expensive specimens typically come from Burma where they fetch a hefty price. In November 2020, a vivid greenish-white jadeite with a stand-out luster, weighing 28.59 caratts sold for nearly $27 million USD in Geneva.

Red Beryl

Red Beryl is an extremely rare gem found in Utah, United States. It is highly sought after due to its intense reddish-pink hue and strong clarity, giving it a magnificent look. In 2011, a red beryl sold for $1 million USD, making it one of the most expensive stones known to man.

Padparadscha Sapphire

Padparadscha Sapphire is a precious stone renowned for its pinkish-orange hue with hints of yellow and pink. Padparadscha Sapphires are usually sourced from Sri Lanka, Madagascar, and Tanzania, and the most valuable specimens come from Sri Lanka. In 2005, one of the world’s largest Padparadscha Sapphires was auctioned for a stunning $7.8 million USD.

Painite

Painite is considered to be an incredibly rare gemstone due to its scarcity of naturally occurring deposits. This gemstone is generally an orangey-red in color with a unique pinkish hue. Until the late 1950s, Painite was only found in its original compound in Myanmar--though it is now found in Tanzania and parts of India. In 2006, a famous piece of painite, known as “TheMogokPainite”, sold for $1 million USD at auction.

Musgravite

Musgravite is a rare mineral found in Greenland and Australia, and is immensely popularized due to its attractive deep greenish-blue hues. It is more of a collector’s item due to its rarity and beautiful hue, and the most expensive known specimen was sold for a staggering $855,000 USD.
