A nice cabochon of color bluish green emerald of panjshir valley Afghanistan, weighing 6 carat plus is received by local Peshawar based laboratory CIGTL-Gemological Laboratory Pakistan. In the study it is observed that to get purest, best and deepest color the cabochon was cut on the c-axis orientation. When the piece is seen from the top the beautiful hexagonal growth zoning was observed. The emerald cab has minor clarity enhanced because of the presence of very few surface reaching cracking.
