Baotite is a rare mineral composed of barium,
titanium, niobium, and silicate. It was initially discovered in 1959 at the
Bayan Obo deposit in the Baotou League, located in the Inner Mongolia
Autonomous Region of China. The mineral was named after the locality where it
was found.
